8 Facts - DOUBLE EDITION - Fluorite Squid

I got tagged by the lovely SailorAlcyone!
Very appreciative of this, since I haven't had much time to get any more drawings done for poor Iro, so this is a great way to show a little more about her!
BUT THEN the darling goddess-of-the-moon1 also tagged me so I thought, hey, it may be a bit more work, but why not turn this into a double feature?
I hope I can do this because that's a lot o'facts, hoo boy..
Without further ado~
1. Iro is an exceptionally strong swimmer and, when she was younger, considered going semi-professional from her high school swim team.
She eventually decided the stress and tensions of serious competition weren't for her, but still enjoys a more grueling swim circuit the rare days she can get at the pool as opposed to free-diving at the local beach.
2. While she still has some that come out with the heat, Iro had freckles literally all over when she was a kid- and the sweetest lil' gappy teeth until her adult ones came in. Iro is incredibly embarrassed about this period of her life and any childhood photos of such a time have been either rounded up by her or sworn in by her parents to be 'off limits' to any future friends or lovers that could come asking- her mom is likely to be easily bribed however.
3. Iro has always felt a bit awkward growing up in a rural seaside down, being a 'hafu' - bi-racially half Japanese. She was never bullied (beyond the norm for children at least) for it, but that didn't mean she didn't get the occasional curious glances as a child or even outright questions to her heritage when she grew older.
She's aware that all of it was done non-maliciously out of natural curiosity, but it's always left her a bit culturally muddled.
Iro is half-japanese from her father, and a quarter Greek, quarter British from her mother, making her quite the mix!
4. Her dreaaaaam is to work at the Okinawa Aquarium - it's one of the largest aquariums in the world, and she was taken for a visit by her parents when she was but a wee little girl and fell in love with the abundance of sea-life. Her primary goal is to become a researcher on the aquarium, particularly studying the regenerative effects of various coral, cephalopod's (octopi + squid) and star fish.
The reason for the specific research is personal, but she adores all kinds of marine biology in truth.
Her folks however are somewhat reluctant to the idea, since it would take her far away from her home of Toyama Bay to the island of Okinawa- a life they fear would be rather isolationist for Iro other than some fish friends.
5. While trying to remain studious, Iro is a full blown low-key nerd lord. She loves browsing Niconico for the latest dumb videos, otaku trends and other random crap. She has a fair amount of guilty j-pop on her music players shuffle and would quite happily curl up with a video game locked in her room for the weekend as easily as a good novel. She tries to keep this side of herself hidden, since she's fairly embarrassed and already hyper aware that her try hard attitude is already rather awkward without the need to add to that.
It's part of the reason she's not entirely comfortable in her own skin even as a young adult, but she's trying her best to work on that and be more open about the sides of herself she's less proud of.
So far, she's yet to see results.
6. Has worn glasses since the age of twelve - another thing she is less than proud of, given they reinforce the idea she has of being 'nerdy'. She instead tries to spin the look to be as studious as possible, but anyone with a lick of attention can see that it doesn't really do all that much to mask her true nature. She's received compliments on her glasses before, ranging from being called 'cute' with them to outright attractive, but her insecurity is pretty deep rooted. The only reason she keeps wearing the damn things is that contacts are exceptionally hard for any kind of 'wet work' - being in the water, or pool, doing practical, hands on research or simply even diving, another activity Iro loves, so she puts up with them. She's incredibly pleased that her Senshi form seems to 'correct' her vision enough to go without them.
7. She has a surprisingly nice singing voice, having been classically trained in Enka style by her very traditional paternal grandmother when she was younger along with a plethora of other classic entertainment crafts before her passing. She'll still play her flute from time to time if the feeling takes her and can be tempted into a more casual setting tea ceremony, but she's reluctant to even attend Karaoke night's out with friends.
8. She has a mild fascination with good luck charms and any other kinds of 'charms' or fortune telling. She has a small collection of collected pouch from various shrines or places pinned to her wall and her keys are littered with various charms, ranging from the 'cute' kind to hyper traditional. Iro isn't exactly deeply spiritual, but she desperately clings to any amount of charms or fortune that could come her way and give her a helping hand- that, and it's become a collecting habit now.
9. Iro is currently spending her first year away from home at University to study Marine Biology. She studied her butt off to make it into the prestigious Tohoku University, but not before racking up a fair amount of cash for numerous entrance exam prep classes and some hefty fee's. Her family had been saving since she was a little girl for her university fund, but none had expected her to pick quite such a prestigious university, so the coffers ran pretty thin..
Iro feels indebted to her family for digging so deep into their funds to afford to send her to her dream degree, enough so that she refuses to mention to them that since moving from her small beach town to the big city, she's struggled to really fit in, make friends and find her feet in such a large place.
Despite her occasional loneliness and having to keep up with friends and family from a long distance, she maintains an indomitable will to succeed and refuse to let things get the better of her- both academically and with her new senshi duties.
10. She's prone to changing her hairstyle quite often, especially for her sailor senshi form- she just can't seem to decide or settle on one 'right' one to get across the image she wants. Her indecisiveness over something as trivial as a hairstyle is based off her nerves of trying to live up to her old childhood admiration of the super heroine she, like many other CA Senshi, saw in her dream as a little girl - 'Sailor Moon'. She keeps trying to adjust things, to 'get it right', even though its unlikely a change of hairstyle will transform her into the guardian of justice she wants to be.

Iro act's quite embarrassed by her linked animal, the firefly squid, since they're not exactly considered 'cool' or even 'cute' or 'beautiful' creatures like other, more traditional animals, but she does, naturally, still love them. She has ever since she was a very little girl, given the hotaru-ika swarm the shores of her hometown's Toyama Bay for mating season and they have often occupied her dreams.
As much as she may besmirch being linked with a 'gross' animal, she does love the firefly squid and still quite often dreams of them and their quiet luminescence - she finds them honestly beautiful, though she'd currently never admit to it, because that's weird and icky and young women should like cute, fluffy animals, not things with tentacles.
12. She's still waiting for that big romance of her life to come and sweep her off her feet. A hopeless romantic at heart, Iro (rather embarrassingly) has never had a real deep relationship. She left behind a few boyfriends (and one semi-secret girlfriend) throughout middle and high-school, but they were more playful friendships than anything serious. She bides her time by splurging through romance novels and nurturing crushes on anyone who's so much as nice to her or remotely attractive. Compliments and genuine flirting get her little hopes up heavily and she's none too experienced with dealing with either of them.
13. Is bisexual and happy for it, even if it does lead to some awkward questions during potential date nights. Iro has a slight preference towards female's, or at least seems to fall for them a lot easier, but she's happily dated and had crushes on plenty of guys too over the years.
She first had an inkling that something was up when she was about ten years old and ended up getting a crush on a girl who was visiting for the summer. She was gone long before the little Iro could really figure anything out or think more of it, but she'd keep thinking of her right into the next school year, daydreaming of their time spent on the beach.
Because close female friendships between school aged girls are viewed as 'normal' in japan, even to the extent of outright crushes, it took Iro a while to figure out exactly what was up, but she's much happier for being honest with herself and it's probably the one area of her identity that she is comfortable and confident with. She isn't closeted and though they don't exactly understand, her parents know and are fine with Iro (potentially, anything on a romance scene has yet to happen) dating women.
14. Though she's not exactly an athlete, Iro is pretty fit and certainly healthy due to keeping an active lifestyle of strong swimming and diving. She has no experience of martial arts or any real combat, but does fairly well simply with keeping her body strong and toned from her hobbies of choice - this is incredibly helpful when it comes to her senshi identity, as Sailor Fluorite Squid currently has no offensive powers, so she has to rely on her body's innate strength for offense.
15. Believes in ghosts, spirits and all kinds of other occult stuff - she's not afraid of them per say, nor is she a fanatic, but she has a passing interest in the supernatural and spiritual things. Being mindful of spirits and other otherworldly things was something instilled in her by her very traditional minded grandmother, and it's been something she hasn't shaken off even into adulthood. She's aware that such values are becoming old fashioned and even a little childish, but maintains that a little belief never hurt anyone.
16. She has a stash of things she's collected during her dives, going back to things she picked up when she was as young as seven. These mainly include shiny things, random knick-knacks and a small ocean-bed worth of sea shells. She keeps these things in a plain wooden box, specifically made for her by her father, and likes to fuss or sort through them at times when she's feeling unsure of a bit down.
This is also how she found her henshin item, but that's a story for another time (aka when I get around to doing that particular CA quest, kek)

I finally did it
I finally managed to work out what this beautiful monstrosity is and holygod its a beast.
I am still 90% unsure of what's even going on but YEAAAAH IM ENJOYING IT.
Jade is the best kid IMO.
The trolls are all amazing.
All I can say is
